Aquaticar is the world’s first underwater driving adventure. Prepare to be amazed as you take the wheel and travel beneath the waves through a fully themed adventure experience, a journey so unique and engaging that it defies imagination.
Sub Sea Systems (designer and inventor of the patented Aquaticar ride) partnered with Oregon-based Miles Fiberglass for molding and producing all of the fiberglass body components for the unique submersible car– the heart of this remarkable ride.
The Aquaticar vehicle is powered entirely by air– using cutting edge Bubble Engine technology. Once you enter the water, the cars gracefully descend to a depth of approximately 9 feet, where the Bubble Engine comes to life, propelling the vehicle along the underwater course. The magic lies in the ingeniously designed rotors that harness the uplifting force of air bubbles, creating a powerful method of ride propulsion. Though you won’t have control over the speed, fear not, as the pace is set to a comfortable cruising speed, allowing you to engage in the story-telling interaction of this extraordinary experience.
As you embark on this aquatic journey, you’ll find yourself on a specially designed track that immerses you in the realism of a discovered lost-world with ancient ruins and surprises to match the coolest and most captivating themes.
Engineered on a custom stainless-steel chassis, the Miles Fiberglass team coordinated with Sub Sea Systems to turn their prototype vehicle body parts into production-ready parts. From drawings to molds with handcrafted perfection, full scale production, and parts finishing with finesse, Miles Fiberglass successfully produced the first 20 sets of fiberglass body parts for these one-of-a-kind submersible vehicles.
Once assembled, the Aquaticar ride will be transported from the West Coast, USA to the Qiddiya Water Theme Park outside of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Qiddiya is a massive entertainment destination, covering an area of around 334 square kilometers (roughly the size of Las Vegas) and is planned to become one of the world’s most extensive entertainment and leisure venues in the world.
The project aims to provide diverse entertainment options and experiences for both locals and international visitors. It will feature various attractions, including theme parks, water parks, the Aquaticar ride, sports facilities, a Formula One track, stadiums, cultural and historical sites, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, and more. Qiddiya’s development is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the country’s economy and reduce its dependency on oil by developing tourism and leisure industries.
