Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Candidate running for election to the U.S. House to represent Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, visited Miles Fiberglass new facility Friday July 29th, 2022. Lori Chavez-DeRemer beat her Republican opponents in a five-way primary. Lori’s new opponent, Democrat Jamie McLeod-Skinner, will face off in the General Election in November.
Lori Chavez-DeRemer was Mayor of Happy Valley from 2010-2018 where she led Oregon’s fastest-growing community. As Mayor, Lori presided over important changes in the city, making it more business-friendly, offer more affordable housing options for families, and a safe place to build a career and raise a family.
On her tour of Miles Fiberglass, Lori mentioned several times the importance of Manufacturing to Oregon and to the US. Being a businessperson herself, she knows the importance of business to our economy and to Oregon. After the tour Lori and Nick Trainer, with the National Public Affairs from DC, sat down with a few business community leaders and Miles Employees to discuss what their struggles are currently, what they hope for in the future for their businesses and, what they would like to see Lori accomplish when she gets to DC.
