Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a Homemade Shamrock Shake

Homemade Shamrock Shake

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and one of the most popular treats to enjoy during this festive time is the Shamrock Shake. This mint-flavored milkshake has become a beloved seasonal treat, especially for fans of the fast-food chain McDonald’s. However, you don’t have to go to McDonald’s to enjoy a Shamrock Shake. With this easy copycat recipe, you can make your own at home and savor the taste of St. Patrick’s Day anytime you want.

Copycat Shamrock Shake Recipe from Miles Fiberglass:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream, for garnish
  • Maraschino cherry, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, whole milk, peppermint extract, and green food coloring (if using).
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the shake is too thick, add more milk a little at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
  3. Pour the shake into a glass and top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
  4. Enjoy your homemade Shamrock Shake!

Tips:

  • If you want to make the shake even creamier, you can use half-and-half instead of whole milk.
  • If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, add more peppermint extract to taste.
  • Chocolate: Chocolate and mint are an iconic duo! Adding a drizzle of chocolate syrup over the top.
  • Make it boozy: I like adding either vodka, whiskey, or Irish Cream.

While the Shamrock Shake may be a seasonal treat, you can now enjoy it any time of the year with this easy copycat recipe. It’s perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, or anytime you want to enjoy a sweet and refreshing mint-flavored milkshake. So go ahead, whip up a batch of homemade Shamrock Shakes, and celebrate the luck of the Irish!
